Gingerbread Man Experience Day

In Year 2 the children have been learning about The Gingerbread Man, as they learn a story with a repeated phrase. To launch the story the children had fun exploring making gingerbread men in different ways. They used icing, chocolates and sweets to decorate gingerbread men biscuits. They playdough to make colourful gingerbread characters. And practiced their cutting skills by designing an outfit for the gingerbread man. 

Across the week the children have listened to the story and added in actions to help them remember the sequence of the story. Together they created a story map and can now retell the story of the Gingerbread Man.
