Science Trip to The National Space Centre Year 6
To support their current Science topic of Earth and Space, Year 6 made an exciting trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester. After a long coach journey, the children arrived and enjoyed exploring the exhibits finding out about the planets, our solar system and space travel.
The children got to watch an exciting live show all about rocket power. By watching some demonstrations they learnt what is needed to power a rocket- and even got some ideas for an investigation we could try back at school.
After lunch the children explored the space tower, which had replicas and real artefacts from some of the shuttle launches that have been in to space. Climbing up over 150 stairs the children got a good understanding of just how enormous parts of a rocket are!
The children had a really interesting day and came back with lots of facts they had learnt on their trip!
