Public Sector Equality Duty
The equality Act 2010 provides a single source to explain discrimination law. Schools cannot unlawfully discriminate against pupils because of their sex, race, disability, religion or sexual orientation.
Under the Equality Act 2010, our school aims to meet its obligations under the Public Sector Equality Duty by having due regard to the need to:
- Eliminate discrimination and other conduct that is prohibited by the Equality Act 2010.
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
- Foster good relations across all characteristics- between people that share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
Halesowen C of E Primary school is an inclusive school. Our school aims to promote respect for difference and diversity in accordance with our Christian ethos, vision and values.
We believe that the Equality Act provides a framework to support our commitment to valuing diversity , tackling discrimination, promotion of equality and fostering good relationships.
