Our School hours
Our school day starts at 8.30am each morning. The gates remain open until 8.40am
The morning register is taken at 8.40
Our school day finishes at 3.30pm ( Monday to Thursday) and 1.00pm on a Friday.
We are open for the recommended time of 32.5 hours.
We offer childcare provision on a Friday pm for parents at work or full time education. We also offer some clubs on a Friday pm such as I rock, sports and Homework.
Timetables Year 1-6
Every class has a slightly different timetable but there are some similarities.
In years 1-6 every morning starts with collective worship. Core subjects are taught following the national curriculum. Maths is taught 4 days a week, English writing is also taught 4 days a week both usually in a morning. In addition to this children are taught phonics, guided reading or whole class reading. Handwriting is taught across the week in all classes. In key stage 2 grammar, spelling and maths whizz sessions are also included.
Children are also taught wider curriculum subjects; Science, History, Geography, PE ( including swimming in one year group), PHSE, Art, DT, music, computing and French ( year 4,5,6 only ). These are mainly taught in an afternoon and on a Friday morning.
Children have a 15 minute morning break and a 50 minute lunch time. Teachers give children additional brain breaks if they need them.
