Nursery Rhyme Week

Week beginning 14th November

Wow! What a wonderful week we have had this week in Nursery; we have had such an exciting week celebrating World Nursery Rhyme week 2022!

The children have focused on a key nursery rhyme each day including

'The big ship sails'

'1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive'

'5 little speckled frogs'

'B.I.N.G.O'

'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'

All provision in our classroom has been based around these nursery rhymes and the children have really enjoyed exploring and investigating.
The children have been 'catching' fish with magnets then matching patterns and discussing what they can see, being introduced to the life cycle of a frog and loved the sensory exploration of the 'frog spawn' we made together. Some children enjoyed creating boats using junk modelling resources and tested whether they would float or sink in our water area and the adults in the class have thoroughly enjoyed watching the children bloom in confidence as they learnt words and actions to the nursery rhymes and performed with their friends (and when playing independently!). The children have also celebrated Children in Need 2022 , they had fun making Pudsey bears and wearing their spotty clothes! We are so proud of how kind and caring the children are.

We are going to be focusing on understanding the world around us, including nocturnal animals and their habitats specifically owls; We will also explore shadows in our black out tent with the use of torches plus much more!

We can't wait! See you next week!
