Maths

Mathematics is a core subject. At Halesowen C of E we realise the importance of the children becoming confident mathematicians. We strongly believe that children need a deep understanding of place value in order to achieve in other aspects of number. 

We allow children to use practical equipment early on in their schooling so they can play with number, shape and measure and learn through curiosity and investigation. 

As children progress we encourage the use of concrete and pictorial to support children to develop confidence. 

Each aspect of Mathematics learning is carefully planned in line with the EYFS framework, National Curriculum and White Rose.
