December's House event - A Christmas Carol
The children got into their houses and were asked to pick a Christmas Carol and write a new verse for it. They then need to practise this and perform it to the whole school.
We were really impressed with all the hard work that went into their performances. The lyrics they came up with were truly amazing! Well done to all Houses!
The verses from our winners and runners ups will be sung in our Carol Service.
Well done to our winners - Lyttleton
Archie - I enjoyed it because everyone had different ideas
They wrote a verse for Starry Night:
We three kings have travelled far,
To see who you are.
And brought gifts, precious gifts for him.
We followed that bright star,
To find where you are,
The new born kings, love of all the world.
We worked together as a team. - Maisie
Well done to our runners up - Hone
They changed the final verse of Away in a Manager
Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
The Christmas lights guide us
As we go to pray
Stay in our hearts each day,
Teaching us the right way
It was fun to work as a team to create new lyrics. - Enya
Well done also to Dudley and Grazebrook
I really liked it because everyone in Dudley were laughing and having fun. - Jessie
Grazebrook wrote a verse for Starry Night:
Then the Kings travelled far,
Following the star,
And were bringing, bringing gifts for him.
They roamed the dusty earth,
for the special birth,
For a boy was born, King of all the world.
Dudley added humour into their verse from The Calypso Carol:
Angels, came to see where Jesus lay
See God’s saviour upon this day
The bright star shining across Dudlay
All rejoicing to the lord.“
Demi - I enjoyed it because Grazebrook and Lyttleton did the same song but did it differently
