Carol Service

The children in Year 6 wrote about Trust in the Nativity Story.  They thought about each of the people in the story and who they might Trust.  This led part of our Carol Service.

Suha – Angel

As I was praising God, I couldn’t stop thinking about the mission he had sent me on. I was a nervous wreck, but I knew I could trust almighty God and his faith in me to deliver the good news that Mary was the chosen one.

Macie- Donkey

As I travelled to Bethlehem with Mary and Joseph, I had to trust Joseph to show me the way there. I had to believe that they would keep me safe, give me food and shelter in the stable. I knew I couldn’t give up and could rely on God to give me hope and to keep us safe on this long journey.

Emma – Mary

One day I was looking outside and suddenly, an angel came to me and spoke “Hello Mary, don’t worry I am an angel from God, and I must tell you good news. You will be the mother of a baby boy – the Son of God and you will name him Jesus.”  Why me? Why have I been chosen? I will need my trust in God to get through this.

Jeriel – Joseph

I was sitting down when my soon to be wife, Mary, told me that she was pregnant. I didn’t believe her but then I had a vision. An angel said to me that it is true and that I should believe her because it will be the Son of God. So, I put my trust into Mary and the angel even though I had my doubts.

Andie – God

I had to trust Angel Gabriel, to tell Mary that she was the chosen one. As I watched Mary from above, she accepted my request to give birth to my son, Jesus. I have put my trust in both Mary and Joseph because of their devotion and love for me.

Andrew – Shepherd

It was just another ordinary night tending to my flock when I was blinded by a bright white light. As the light faded an angel appeared in front of me and said, “A saviour has been born in a stable in Bethlehem.” Could I trust what the angel was telling me? I must go and see for myself.

Deandrea – Three Kings

Walking along the bumpy path carrying our precious gifts, a huge star appeared in front of our eyes. It was shining bright, and our eyes were dazzled by its glory.  We will have to trust this star to guide us to the new saviour who is lying in a manger in Bethlehem.

Nancy – The World

I trusted God to create me well for all the people to enjoy my plants, fruit and water. Hail to the Holy Ghost who fulfilled his promise to me the world, but it is the people who have broken their promises. Who is going to save us? Behold God has heard our plea and given us a gift – his son, our saviour.  We trust in God and have faith.

Christmas Tree for the Church

We ran a house event for the children in school to design their own bauble for our school's Christmas tree.

Each class was given a different part of the nativity story to draw on a bauble outline.  4 winners from each class were then chosen to have their design put on a bauble.

Well done to Hone for winning overall.

All of the winning baubles were put on our tree which was displayed in St John's Church during Advent.

Halesowen Town Learning Community Carol Service

Our Year 5 class went to St John's Church to sing with children from schools in Halesowen.  We filled the Church with everyone's amazing singing.
