We care, we trust, we believe. We share, we enjoy, we achieve.

A visitor to Reception

Reception children had a visit from St Johns the Baptist Church linked to our learning about how we are all special and how we belong. We acted out a Baptism.

Reception children shared their knowledge about being special and where we belong today with our special visitor from St Johns the Baptist church. Claire was happy to listen to how we belong to school, to our class, to our families and how we belong to a wider community. Claire spoke fondly about how she belongs to the Christian community, and what ceremony she assists in performing so other people can join if they wish.

Claire talked about what happens in a Baptism and wanted some helpers to act out what happens in this special ceremony in church.

Reception were eager to take part as the following parts...

The Vicar

Mum and Dad

The baby

The church helpers

The Godparents

We had the following props...

The water

A font

A towel

A cross

A bible

A candle.

Great acting was observed and Claire left the children some special gifts, a bible and a cross.

Thank- you Claire for visiting and helping with our learning.
