Head teacher's Update

A really busy week in school as we come to the last few weeks of term. All the children have had their Sports Days and for once we were really lucky with the weather; in some cases it was a bit too hot! I attended both the Key Stage 2 and Early Years afternoon event and it seemed to me that the children enjoyed the fun and competitive elements to both. We plan Sports Days so that all children can be involved, and so that the children who excel in athletics get a chance to shine, particularly further up the school.

Next week Dominic will bless Year 6 in St John's church before they move on to secondary school and in the same service, our Shining Stars will receive their award. We look forward to another exciting, happy week in school.

REMINDER

Sickness and Diarrhoea

Regular attendance in school is very important. However, there have been a number of absences due to vomiting and/or diarrhoea.

If this is the case, please note your child should be kept off school for 48 hours from the last time they have been vomiting or had loose stools.

This also applies if your child has been sent home from school for the above reason. As an example, if your child is sick at lunchtime on a Tuesday, they should not return to school until after lunch on Thursday, provided there have not been any further episodes of vomiting or diarrhoea.

We appreciate that this may be inconvenient in many cases but it important they we reduce the risk of infection for all children in school.

Building Work

On Monday 10th July building work will begin on the Church Hall which is located in the Churchyard Extra care will need to be taken when walking through the churchyard by the KS1 entrance. and there may be workmen, vehicles and skips. Please bear with us as this is an exciting project as this will be where our new Before and After School Club will start from September. It is also where Time for Two's sessions will run. If anyone would like further details about the before and after school clubs or Time for Twos' please see the School Office and we can add you to the waiting list
